Mokin Museum (Insa-dong) : 인사동 목인(木人)박물관

Assuming a variety of roles, Mokin(wooden man) was widely used for diverse purposes:
religious functions, incantation and other ceremonies. (Wooden figurine for a burial mound/ Ornamental sculpture for a traditional funeral bier/ for warding off evil spirits and for invoking a blessing) : quotations from Mokin museum guide

This small museum for Mokin(wooden man : 木人) has got about 5,000 pieces Korean traditional wooden figures (latter period of Chosun dynasty) by personal collection.  After the modernization, these little fellows are quite hardly seen around us, so this is the place where you can see latter Chosun's customs and unique style wooden figurine for ceremonies.
